What exactly that means in terms of timeframe cannot be determined, just that an Android device won’t be next.
Unfortunately the Nuvifone G60 isn’t based on Android and the next Garmin-Asus device will not be an Android phone either, but they have stated they are “committed to building” a phone that runs Android. The phone will come out on AT&T and/or T-Mobile and while delayed, will still come out in the first half of 2009 and we’ll see it at the Mobile World Congress in a couple weeks. Garmin’s upcoming Nuvifone will even be rebranded as the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60. But now that partnership has not only become public but promoted and the partnership isn’t for a device but for a complete lineup. We’ve known for quite some time that Garmin and ASUS were partnered up, after all… they’ve previously been selected to manufacture the Nuvifone.
